Programa de Estudos

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • State on the world energy context and its expected evolution considering the energy transition challenges to meet sustainability in development;
  • Demonstrate the advantages of a sustainable energy mix based mainly on renewable sources of energy and natural gas, in order to achieve carbon neutrality by the end of the century;
  • Analyze associated limitations and justify innovative mitigation solutions based on the development of underground storage capacities for emitted CO2 and energy from renewables. Describe how these options can be deployed in time;
  • Demonstrate the importance of energy efficiency in processes, the advantage of new generation of biofuels regarding induced CO2 abatements and describe selected technical solutions.

Arash Farnoosh
Arash FARNOOSH (PhD) holds the Chair of “Electricity Economics & Digital Transition” at IFP School. Currently he teaches courses on energy economics, natural gas and electricity management and techno-economics of renewable energies at IFP School. Moreover, he supervises a Master’s program in Petroleum Economics and an Executive Master in Energy Management. Previously he worked in various entities such as Airbus France, Total E&P and BNP Paribas Investment Banking group as a techno-economic engineer and analyst.

Sidney Lambert-Lalitte
Sidney Lambert-Lalitte is a lecturer specialized in economics and the environment, and, in particular, in the tools used to reduce greenhouse gases emissions (carbon markets, environmental tax systems, etc.). His main areas of study are energy & climate economics, but also business models in the renewable energy sector.

Marine Simoën
Marine Simoën obtained a degree in chemical engineering from Chimie ParisTech before joining the Energy and Market Program at IFP School, from which she graduated in 2017. She then joined IFP Energies nouvelles for a year as a research engineer at in the Economics and Monitoring department. She worked mainly on prospective projects related to the demand for mineral raw materials for energy transition and strategic positioning of market players.

Anne Jardin
Prior she retired recently, Anne Jardin was the program supervisor of the Specialized Mastère in Petroleum Data Management, a new program dedicated to data technologies in georesources and energy sectors. Her expertise domain is petroleum geosciences from exploration to reservoir characterization and she developed case studies, projects and workshops around exploration and production data sets for initial and professional training.

Jean-Pierre Deflandre
Jean-Pierre Deflandre is Professor at IFP School in the Georesources and Energy domain. He co-holds the CarMa chair “Carbon Management and negative CO2 emissions technologies towards a low carbon future”. He is also the Project leader of the Energy Transition MOOC. Jean-Pierre gives and coordinates courses on Carbon Capture and Storage and on unconventional hydrocarbons for a series of IFP School master programs. He is also researcher at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) in the domain of CO2 management where he was previously in charge of European R&D projects on CO2 geological storage.

David Teixeira
Dr. David Teixeira is project manager on energy storage at IFP Energies nouvelles. These areas of expertise are energy storage technologies and renewable energy production. Its fields of intervention are the technological, energetic, aerodynamic, thermal, but also prospective and economic aspects. Today, its actions mainly concern energy storage by compressed air.

Jean-Luc Monsavoir
Jean-Luc Monsavoir is a lecturer on process technology for energy and transport fuel production After some 30 years in the energy industry, he headed the “Processes for energy and chemicals center” in IFP School. His areas of expertise include design, operation and optimization of processes ranging from gas, oil, to coal and hydrogen processing including risk management aspects and has been involved in training activities all along his career

Denis Bossanne
Denis Bossanne joined IFP School in June 2016, as a teacher at the Processes for energy and chemicals center. His main areas of expertise are Instrumentation & Process control, Engineering, Distillation, Fuel-oil blending and Crude oil supply Optimization

Nathalie Houdart
Nathalie Houdart is program supervisor of the Master “Energy Processes” at the “Processes for energy and chemicals center”. She worked for twelve years in Axens as project engineer. Her main areas of expertise are linear programming, refining schemes and modelization.

Perrine Babin
Perrine Babin is a lecturer specialized in Polymers and Chemical Intermediates. She gives some lectures on Polymers, on both technical and economic aspects and she coordinates the Teaching Units dealing with Polymers/Plastics. She worked in the polymer industry during 12 years and had been in charge of bio-based technical polymers development at Arkema.

Olivier Bernaert
Olivier Bernaert joined IFP School in June 2011, as an Associated Professor in “Processes for energy and chemicals center” as energy efficiency specialist. Before joining IFP School, he held several positions within Total in the production and process departments. His main activity today is lecturing for the Energy and Processes program in IFP School.

Philippe Gilbert
Philippe Gilbert has been a research engineer at IFPEN for more than 15 years and works among the floating wind energy team with a special interest on floaters hydrodynamics.

IFP School est une école d´application qui apporte à des étudiants et jeunes professionnels du monde entier une formation dans les domaines de l'énergie répondant aux besoins de l'industrie et aux demandes de la société en particulier en matière de développement durable et d'innovation.
