关于内容

Computer graphics can be a powerful tool for supporting visual problem solving, and interactivity plays a central role in harnessing the users' creativity. This course will introduce various interactive tools developed in computer graphics research field with their design rationales and algorithms. Examples include enhancements to graphical user interfaces, authoring tools for 2D drawings and 3D animations, and interactive computer-aided design systems. Rich live demonstrations and course assignments will give you insights and skills to design and implement such tools for your own problems.

课程大纲

  • Week 1 - Graphical User Interfaces
Graphical user interfaces turn computer control problem into visual problem solving. The lectures of this module introduce five attempts to enhance current GUI operations such as scrolling interfaces, management of desktop icons, pointing on a large display, d...
  • Week 2 - 2D Drawings and Animations
In this module we will dive deep into the world of 2D. We will discuss techniques for authoring 2D drawings and animations. Specifically, we will introduce interactive diagram beautification, pen-and-ink texture synthesis, shape manipulation, and dynamic illus...
  • Week 3 - 3D Geometric Modeling
In this module, we rise up from 2D plane to 3D space, and discuss 3D geometric modeling methods. Topics introduced are; suggestive interface for architectural models, a sketch-based modeling system for freeform shapes, a curve-based shape control method, a flo...
  • Week 4 - Deformation and Animation
Starting from this module, we are shifting our attention towards simulating/crafting real objects and movements, which usually require intricate systems to deal with. As for this module, we will introduce clothing manipulation techniques, layer operations for ...
  • Week 5 - Fabrication
In this module, we will discuss systems for supporting personal fabrication. In particular, we will introduce systems for designing plush toys, beadworks, chairs, and softly folded objects. In addition, interactive packing method is presented.
  • Week 6 - Computer-aided Design
Nowadays, computers are indispensable for designing products; computers mediate the interaction between designers and products. But in most cases, designing and testing processes are separated, so that designers will not foresee the consequences of their desig...
  • Week 7 - Real-world Interaction
Computer-operated appliances, such as robotic cleaners, are gradually spreading to general households in recent years. These emerging technologies have opened the door to the new research area, i.e. research on the interactions between ordinary people and robo...

This course is interesting but it is hard to find discussion with quiz especially for physics and linear algebra. I wish I can get quiz review after I pass the quiz.

Very good overview of topics. Videos and demos make the general ideas very quick to understand. Fortunately, the course also does not shy away for describing some of the underlying algorithms and methods.

The lectures are very quick and does not offer examples to work on, then on the graded quiz they use complex questions about material that was barely viewed. The community seems to be as confused as myself, they have asked for help and help never arrived.I had high hopes for this course but it was nothing to what I thought it would be.

I like the applications and tools presented in the lecture. However, I hardly don`t understand how the lecture is related to the graded quiz. It is so difficult to connect the lecture to written exams because the quiz was not even demonstrated during the lecture but only mentioned and displayed. Some answers I thought and looking for were not indicated in the choices, though I guess I am demanded to read the whole textbook in order to find the answer, so I wonder if the video lecture is just an introduction or an advertisement to showcase their researches and applications developed. Also, I was not informed that a rich knowledge in coding and programming is needed and not only a basic mathematical skills. This may not be ideal for a basic computer programming, yet i appreciate it. Thus, i get disheartened and disappointed in my first week class because of lapses I encountered, I am not sure if I am determined to continue until its last week.

Lecturer tells just nothing. All you need to do, is reed scientific articles. 1 or more for each question in each quize. I would like to hear something, that will help me to solve the quiz from lecturer.
