Right now, countless people across the UK are coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis, going through treatment or coping with the loss of a loved one. 1 in 2 people will develop cancer in their lifetime. Encouraging people to make healthy choices, access local services and visit their doctor promptly if they notice changes to their body can make a huge difference, but many of us find cancer a difficult subject to talk about. Perhaps we put off starting the conversation because we think we might say the wrong thing. Perhaps we’ve tried in the past and had a difficult experience. Or perhaps we’re not sure if it’s our job. This informative course will give you the tips, tools and confidence to have simple, effective conversations that could help save lives. Learn with experts from Cancer Research UK During the course we will draw on the knowledge of experts from Cancer Research UK, led by our experienced Cancer Awareness Trainers. You will meet a range of people with first-hand experience of talking about cancer, listen in on different conversations and discuss the issues they raise. Build up confidence to talk about cancer This free online course will help you: understand the facts develop your approach share good practice and build your confidence Over the course of 3 weeks, we will equip you with tips and tools to talk about cancer without feeling embarrassed or awkward, enabling you to make a real difference in your community.
