To succeed in an ever-changing and competitive marketplace, organizations must effectively manage all of their human capital. The challenge is how to engage a workforce that is highly diverse, global, and multigenerational.

This course will review the “new normal” demographic and global trends shaping labor markets. You will also learn about challenges you may face when managing workers from different cultures, and others who have different values and preferences. Lastly, you will learn how to create a toolkit for motivating and engaging all workers to help organizations achieve their strategic outcomes.   

This course is offered as a collaboration by IEEE and the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations.

Les intervenants

Dr. Bill Castellano

Bill's research, teaching, and consulting activities are focused on the effective management of contract human capital and strategic alliances, employee engagement, and aligning business and human resource strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness. He has over twenty-five years of experience working in corporate Fortune 50, entrepreneurial and research environments. He was a Managing Partner at an executive search firm and a Chief Marketing Officer at a national HR outsourcing company.

Bill also held senior HR management positions at Merrill Lynch and Manufactures Hanover Trust, where he was involved with human resource strategies and practices that supported both individual business groups and the global enterprise.

EdX est une plateforme d'apprentissage en ligne (dite FLOT ou MOOC). Elle héberge et met gratuitement à disposition des cours en ligne de niveau universitaire à travers le monde entier. Elle mène également des recherches sur l'apprentissage en ligne et la façon dont les utilisateurs utilisent celle-ci. Elle est à but non lucratif et la plateforme utilise un logiciel open source.

EdX a été fondée par le Massachusetts Institute of Technology et par l'université Harvard en mai 2012. En 2014, environ 50 écoles, associations et organisations internationales offrent ou projettent d'offrir des cours sur EdX. En juillet 2014, elle avait plus de 2,5 millions d'utilisateurs suivant plus de 200 cours en ligne.

Les deux universités américaines qui financent la plateforme ont investi 60 millions USD dans son développement. La plateforme France Université Numérique utilise la technologie openedX, supportée par Google.
