Over this four-week course, you will be able:
- To describe the basic varieties of cognitive and behavioural therapies and their historical development
- To describe the general cognitive model and recognize the factors involved in the development and maintenance of emotional disorders and critically evaluate the evidence base for cognitive behavioural therapy
- To recognize the structural, interpersonal and technical components of a cognitive behaviour therapy session
- To assess the suitability of a patient for formal cognitive behavioural therapy and utilize simple techniques in a psychiatric session
