In this course, you’ll be introduced to the ideas and strategies behind effective human resource management.
You’ll have the opportunity to discover international HR theory and consider how HR practice differs from country to country.
You’ll have the chance to explore how HR policies are approached by different companies and how their practices differ on the global stage.
You’ll also have the opportunity to use a global company case study to explore international HR management in practice.
Prerequisite
This course is designed for professionals who’d like to better understand the concept of human resources management and expand their HR knowledge in an international context.
This course would be a great introduction to HR for anyone who’d like to study human resources management at a higher level.

Xue Zhou
Xue Zhou is an Assistant Professor in Project Management at Coventry University. She teaches International Business and People Relations on the BA International Business (Top-Up) degree programme.

Coventry University is a public research university in the city of Coventry, England, part of the wider Coventry University Group. It was formerly known as Lanchester Polytechnic until 1987, and Coventry Polytechnic until it was awarded university status in 1992. The university comprises four faculties which are made up of schools and departments which collectively run around 300 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Across the university there are 11 research centres which specialise in different fields, from transport to peace studies.

FutureLearn is a massive open online course (MOOC) learning platform founded in December 2012.
It is a company launched and wholly owned by The Open University in Milton Keynes, England. It is the first UK-led massive open online course learning platform, and as of March 2015 included 54 UK and international University partners and unlike similar platforms includes four non-university partners: the British Museum, the British Council, the British Library and the National Film and Television School.
