Il s’agit de retracer les grandes étapes de formation de l’Etat, de l’Antiquité à l’époque moderne, dans le but de mieux comprendre notre droit constitutionnel mais aussi nos structures administratives, judiciaires et financières.

Ce cours constitue une première approche de l’histoire du droit et des institutions.

Accessible à tous, aussi bien aux novices qu’aux passionnés d’histoire et de droit, il déroule les principaux moments de la construction de l’Etat : l’Antiquité, avec l’apparition de la notion de res publica et la mise en place des structures politiques et administratives à travers la Gaule ; le Moyen Age, avec le renouveau de la notion d’Etat, notamment grâce à la renaissance du droit romain au XIIème siècle puisque les juristes utiliseront le droit romain ou encore la philosophie d’Aristote ; les temps modernes, avec la constitution progressive de l’Etat tel que nous le connaissons aujourd’hui.

Format : le MOOC se décline en leçons vidéo hebdomadaires, dispensées sur 12 semaines, et accompagnées d’exercices et d’évaluations en ligne.

Panthéon-Assas University, is a public research university in Paris, France. It was established so as to succeed the faculty of law and economics of the University of Paris, as the latter was divided into thirteen autonomous universities, following the events of May 1968.

The majority of the nineteen campuses of Panthéon-Assas are located in the Latin Quarter, with the main campus on place du Panthéon. The university is composed of four departments specializing in law, economics, public and private management, and political science, and hosts twenty-four research centres and five specialized doctoral schools. Every year, the university enrolls approximately 18,000 students, including 3,000 international students.

Since its founding, Panthéon-Assas has produced two presidents, four prime ministers and the holders of thirty-seven other ministerships around the world.
