The University of Waikato

The University of Waikato sits among the top 3% of universities world-wide. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings from late 2016 placed the University at 324 in the world – up from 338 in 2015, based on a range of criteria including reputation, research, teaching, employability and internationalisation. Times Higher Education ranked Waikato 68 out of 100 “most international” universities in the world. Within its seven faculties, the university strives to provide a future-focused curriculum and is committed to ongoing investment in technology, and campus and programme development. It offers a broad range of qualifications for undergraduate and graduate students, priding itself on the flexibility of its degrees. Teaching methods at Waikato prepare students to think critically and to show initiative in their learning. All programmes are taught with a balance of theoretical knowledge and the practical application of that theory. As one of New Zealand’s major research organisations, the university works collaboratively with researchers throughout New Zealand and across the world.
