The University of Caen, whose current full name is University of Caen Normandy (UNICAEN) is a French university, based in Caen (Calvados). It is the only university in the Basse-Normandie region. It welcomes in 2015-2016 almost 28 000 students, as well as the University of Rouen.

It includes training and research units, institutes and schools. The École nationale supérieure d'ingénieurs de Caen is attached to the university. It is part of the community of universities and university establishments Normandy is also the seat.
